GUIDELINES FOR CRITIQUE OF A QUANTITIVE RESEARCH ARTICLE
1. Write a short paragraph describing why, based on the title, you selected the article. Describe what you hoped to learn from
   this article. Write this before reading the entire article.


INTRODUCTION

2.   What is the rationale and problem statement of the study? Was it clearly communicated?

3.   Are the research questions or hypotheses clearly stated?

4.   Does the author/s provide operational definition of the variables?

5.   Is the study based on a theory?  Was this mentioned in the study?

METHOD

6.   Is there a connection between the method of data collection and the research questions or hypotheses?

7.   Do the author/s properly define, describe and delimit the sample selected? Is the method of sampling properly described?

8.   Was there an attempt to enhance internal validity?

9.   Are the instruments used appropriate to the study? Were the reliability and validity of instruments discussed?

10.   Is there a description of the procedures used to administer the instruments? Were limitations identified?


RESULTS

11. Were the tables and graphs presented clear and understandable?

12. Were appropriate statistical techniques used and significance levels reported? 

13. Would you suggest any other statistical analysis for the study?

DISCUSSION

14. What were the conclusions?  Were the speculation for the findings reasonable?

15. Did the author/s relate their findings to theory?

16. Did the authors suggesr future research?

17. What was good about the study?
