Current Research Focus in Instructional Technology

Introduction
The field of instructional technology is growing at a rapid rate. Advances in understanding human learning and the development of various technological tools, new and interesting areas of research has originated. In this section of my website, I will make available to interested individuals the current thinking with regard to  research in the field of instructional technology.
All too often, graduate students are not quite aware of developments in the field and this is reflected in their research proposals which tend to focus on topics that have been done decades ago and no longer relevant given the present scenario.
What has been the focus of interest in the past?
What is the focus of interest today?
Design and Evaluation of a Website on Training Teachers to Teach Specific Subject Areas (science, social science, mathematics, moral education, Islamic education, TESL, etc)
Qualitative Analysis of Collaborative Communication in a Forum (Asynchronous) and Chat Room (Synchronous)
Supporting On-Site Learning Using the Tools of the Web (such as the forum, e-mail, chat room, etc)
Using Authentic Simulations to Enhance Learning of Specific Concepts in Different Subject Areas
Research Topics
Using Microworlds to Enhance Teaching and Learning
Some men see things as they are and say "Why?"
I dream things that never were and say "Why not?"
