The Doctor of Philosophy or PhD programme offered by the School of Education & Cognitive Science, Asia e University is specifically geared for professional practitioners in education from public or private schools, community or government agencies, private organisations, training departments, professional associations, institutions of higher education and other education-related settings.
It is a FULL RESEARCH programme and is usually a very focussed study, built around answering several research questions. A PhD is an appprenticeship in research in which you acquire research skills in a selected field of education. It seeks to develop knowledge, skills and  values useful in roles to anaylse and respond to challenges in diverse educational area.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The objective of the programme is to:
  • Enhance knowledge of theory, developments and practices in one of the specialisations in education.
  • Enhance the ability of students to create conceptual systems that reflect synthesis, coherence and construction of knowledge about education.
  • Provide opportunities for students to engage in academic research, scholarship, systematic enquiry, communicate and evaluate research within the six fields of education.
  • Provide a graduate experience that is intellectually stimulating and professional relevant, to support decision making and problem solving in the six areas of education.
